Prostitution, in the world, is as old as the human race. Since the Babylonians, prostitution existed in various forms and was used for either the simple pleasure or for economical gains. Unfortunately prostitution is an expanding industry and in some countries considered a legal activity and a job, such as in Switzerland. Furthermore, not only it’s expanding amongst the lower class and analphabet, as would be expected, but also amongst the middle class people. This is a universal phenomenon; that is expanding all throughout the world, not only amongst adults but also children and adolescents.
However, what is prostitution? Well as mentioned above it is one of the oldest professions in the world. This event occurs when a person, either man or women, has a sexual relation with another human being in exchange for an asset with economical value such as money, food, clothes, house or anything that has a certain worth. Furthermore, although all humans have the right to do anything they want with their own body, once they reach the age of 18, many adults, i.e. parents, family members, and strangers, sell their own children or kidnapped children for prostitution because of their low income, and the high value placed on these innocent children
Despite the fact that child prostitution is seen as a brutal phenomenon, many people aren’t aware that this is not something which has started recently. Child prostitution goes back many years, as far as the ancient Greeks and Romans. Children at that time, due to the low education received were not able to think for themselves and so felt peer pressured by their friends. Wealthy men used to take young boys to the sauna in order to perform pedophilia. As most of the children thought it was normal, these used to go to the sauna as if it was something normal. So basically the story does not start in this or last century, but actually many centuries ago.
